A Good Man is Hard to Find...or Not
Aaron Gouveia, you get the bad-ass award of the year. Just watch this and you'll understand.

thanks alot stephen hawking

if Hawking says there are aliens in the universe, I will definitely believe that. Why the hell not? His new book, The Grand Design: God Not Needed for Creation, states God was not needed to create the universe, it would have happened anyway with the laws of physics. Wow, I will have to think on that one.

Oh No Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent Van Gogh's "Vase and Flowers" has been stolen from the Mahmoud Khalil Museum in Cairo; according to the Associated Press, the painting is worth roughly $50 million. [AP]

Thanks a lot, vandal. Way to cut out a fucking van gogh and ruin it for everyone else.
Normally I try not to post photos for copyright infringement and whatnot, but since this painting has been stolen, everyone needs to see it. Who knows how long it will be gone?
(I had no clue Van Gogh only used one brush to paint his work. That is amazing considering his contemporaries were wearing berets and using 7 different sable brushes)

Andy Warhola
READ DEEP STORAGE- this book is all about collecting, storing, and archiving art. It has the best articles on art installations of archiving memory.
I will be the first to admit I am not an Andy Warhol fan. But I absolutely admire what he did for the art world after his death. And he is pretty fascinating as a individual. http://flavorwire.com/110223/andy-warhol-82-birthday-facts
-----"From the ’50s through the ’70s, Andy always kept a standard-size cardboard box beside his desk that he would fill with interesting ephemera. Each box would be taped and dated when it was full. At the time of his death, Andy had assembled over 600 of these “time capsules.” ".-------
Now these time capsules have been given to universities art collections and are being opened for the first time.
So fucking cool.
Also, I just cannot believe Warhol and Duchamp met. Marcel Duchamp is my favorite artist, hands down. http://www.warhol.org/calendar/events_detail.php?eventID=1875&dateYear=2010&dateMonth=5&dateDate=25
This looks like an early jackson pollock done by a jean michel basquiat jeff koons.

"Being born is like being kidnapped. And then sold into slavery", in The Philosophy of Andy Warhol.
Now think of that sentence while looking at this photo of andy warhol. http://flavorwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/YoungAndy.jpg
Hmmmm.

The House.
Margaret Eby wrote an article about the House. The very first one. She writes so beautifully and her eyes are cooler than bob dylans.
EXCERPT:
" “Museums are places where art goes to die,” Alan Watts once opined in Artforum, and he’s hardly the first art-lover to think so. Many contemporary artists have frought relationships with museums as institutions: No matter that great works are collected and cared for, no matter that landmark sculptures and paintings are impeccably preserved in temperature-controlled room, protected from camera flashes and finger oils by watchful guards, something about the museum forever alters the interaction between the art and the public. "

Thank you Margaretta, you are the most wonderful.

Contra band
I know Vampire Weekend does not give a fuck about an oxford comma, but they should give a fuck about copyright images.
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-20011290-504083.html
I would post the photo of the woman but I do not want to be sued for 2 million.
And I hope it all gets settled because I really do enjoy the band.
